Lilleshall Squash & Racketball Club — Custom themed WordPress website and new logo
The Background:
Introducing Lilleshall Squash & Racketball Club (LSRC). The club operates within the picturesque grounds of The Lilleshall National Sports Centre, near Newport in Shropshire.
LSRC have been established for over 50 years, with a sizeable membership base of men, women, and juniors. All members contribute to competitive ladders, leagues, tournaments, and friendly games.
LSRC’s Chairman approached me to assist the Club because their website and logo needed a new lease of life. My brief included migrating the Club’s static website across on to a market-leading Content Management System (WordPress). This would allow LSRC management to login and carry out their own routine updates.
I created a custom WordPress theme for LSRC from the ground-up. This used a combination of HTML, CSS, SASS, and PHP. I built their new website using Git for versioning control, while also setting up an automatic deployment system via Bitbucket and FTPloy. This ensured quick and safe theme updates in the future.
I also created a new brand for the Club, including a logo, which was worked into the new website, plus other key marketing collateral.
After going live, the website helped to drive a significant increase in club enquires and new membership sign-ups. Within six months, LSRC enjoyed a 34% increase in new members (vs the same period the previous year).
