Best Countries to Live and Work

Do you ever dream of escaping and moving abroad? ✈️ ☀️

Where would you go?

Well, Switzerland might be the best choice you could make!

That’s because the country recently topped a list of the best places to migrate to in 2025.

And this migration list was the focus of this Tableau dashboard which formed part of my #MakeoverMonday challenge.

I had great fun putting this dashboard together.

The challenge allowed me to revisit some techniques I’d used on previous projects – bump and beeswarm charts.

A bump chart is a type of line chart which visualises the ranking changes of different items.

Beeswarm charts show the distribution of data along the Y axis. This chart plots individual points from the largest through to smallest.

For my visualisation, I took my beeswarm chart a stage further and used shape layers to plot the individual points as country flags.

And flags were a big part of this visualisation. I also used them as the main menu, allowing the user to select a country’s flag and then see the related migration stats and rankings.
