Grassland Management – The Background:
Grassland Management is an interactive learning resource, covering the growth and structure of the grass plant. The resource provides useful concepts for grazing management theory.
I produced the nine-part tutorial alongside subject experts at the University of Nottingham. Further learning materials were provided by colleagues at the University of Aberdeen, plus, Massey University in New Zealand.
The tutorial is for undergraduate and postgraduate students and is hosted through Moodle.
The resource introduces important units covering a range of topics. These topics include; Vegetative Plant and Reproductive Structure, and Leaf Growth and Death.
The resource features review exercises at the end of each chapter. This helps to reinforce understanding.
Students can explore grass and root structure using interactive animations and videos.
“It’s fantastic to know that the [newly redeveloped] Grassland Management application will continue to be used by our students in the future. It just goes to show the long-term value of the original work our team carried out and it’s great that Joel has given the tutorial a new lease of life.”
